What Christmas light installation actually costs in South Florida

Professional Christmas light installation on a South Florida home runs from $1,295 for a modest single-story roofline to $6,000 and up for a large two-story elevation with palms, wreaths, and driveway lighting. The number is driven by three things: how many linear feet of roofline you want lit, how high off the ground that roofline sits, and how complicated it is to follow.

The per-foot rate, by height

Roofline lighting is priced by the linear foot, and height is the biggest single multiplier because it dictates ladder work, crew size, and time on site. One story runs $8.00 per foot. Two story is $10.00. Three story or a steep pitch that needs fall protection is $12.50.

That rate is all-in for the season. It covers custom-cut commercial C9 line, clips rated for your roof type, installation, in-season service, takedown after the first of the year, and off-season storage of the strands cut to your specific roofline.

  • One story: $8.00 per linear foot
  • Two story: $10.00 per linear foot
  • Three story or steep pitch: $12.50 per linear foot
  • Project minimum: $1,295

Why two houses with the same footage price differently

A long clean ranch roofline and a Mediterranean elevation with six gables, three dormers, and a tower can measure the same total footage and still take twice as long. Every direction change is a cut, a clip, and a check for line tension.

We apply a complexity multiplier for that instead of quoting a low rate and then padding the invoice on install day. Simple runs stay at the base rate. Cut-up rooflines carry a modest uplift you see on the quote before you agree to anything.

What the add-ons cost

Roofline is the anchor, but in South Florida the palms are what make a display read from the street. A wrapped royal or queen palm trunk is the single highest-impact add-on per dollar on most properties.

Wreaths above the entry, garland on columns and railings, and pathway or driveway lighting are quoted per unit so you can add or drop them without re-pricing the whole job.

The honest ways to spend less

We do not discount the rate card, because the rate card is what pays for commercial-grade material and a crew that shows up in January to take it down. There are four named levers instead.

Book before October 1 and the early bird discount is 15 percent. Bundle two or more service lines and it is 10 percent. Repeat clients get 10 percent. Refer a neighbor and you both get a $150 credit. Those stack in a defined order and they show on your quote as line items, not as a mystery number.

When seasonal stops making sense

A two-story South Florida home with palms averages roughly $2,200 a year once everything is included. Five seasons is about $11,000, and at the end you own nothing.

A permanent architectural system on the same house is around $6,840 at $38.00 per foot for 180 feet. It covers every holiday, runs warm white the rest of the year, and is commonly financed over 60 months. If you plan to light the house every December for the next decade, run that math before you book another seasonal install.
